1. Why choose a Transform Experience at IEL?

Researched Choices

With the IEL program, learners get to select their organization from a group of well-researched choices. The program has a bouquet of organizations that have been added after careful research on their philosophy, social objectives and methodology. The intention is to offer sterling organizations that are doing valuable work as a contribution to society in order to provide a unique experience for the learner.

Skill Matching

The institute matches the skills offered by the learner with the skills required by the organization. In order to contribute meaningfully to the organization an intelligent match between the two is enabled, creating a win-win situation for both.

Tailor Made Solutions

The choice of the organization is customized to the need of the learner. The learner can choose the organization on the basis of:

  • Area of work and philosophy of the SDO
  • Demographic location of SDO
  • Cause/s the SDO supports
  • Skills the SDO requires
  • Skills offered by learner

Open line of Communication

In order to facilitate the selection process, we offer an open channel of communication between the learner and the organizations they are interested in. The purpose of this initiative is for the learner to get acquainted with the SDO, its ideology, working conditions and the team before he/she commits to the program and the organization.

2. How much does a Transform experience cost?

Costs depend on the social development organization you choose to work with. Most IEL programs have a one-time program fee based on the duration of stay. This fee covers the costs associated with setting up the program, accommodation, some meals, and in-country administrative expenses.

3. Can you tell me exactly what I will be doing?

Once we finalize your placement, we will send you a job description and information about the organization you will be working with. Remember that all placements are completely individualized, so your experience with a specific organization may be entirely different from a past participant's experience. Keep in mind that you are working to fill a need in the organization and needs change over time. International or local volunteering requires flexibility. We will do our best to inform you of your tasks, but tasks may change once you are in the country.

4. What are the Payment Options

Payments for a transform experience can be made by bank transfer or through online payment gateways. Payment at the Foundations Bangalore office is also available.

5. Can I travel while on a Transform program?

Most organizations are flexible about their intern traveling and exploring the country for short periods during the program. This allows the learners to discover the country during their stint and understand the social issues contextually.

6. What are my accommodation options?

Some social development organizations offer on campus accommodation while many may not. In such cases the institute organizes suitable accommodation nearby depending on the budget and cultural requirement of the individual.

7. What is the application process?

In order to customize an experience for your learning needs, it is important that you to write to us with your need and your personal details. This basic information starts the customization process for the program.

8. Is IEL nonprofit?

Yes, IEL is a registered nonprofit trust that works towards alternative learning and education.

9. What immunizations do I need?

This varies depending on the country you will visit. For the final word on immunizations, you will need to make an appointment with a doctor specializing in travel medicine, but we recommend following the guidelines set by the Center for Disease Control

10. Will I need a visa?

The institute will assist all learners with the visa and police verification procedures.
